Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, visited the Skill Development Institute (SDI) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and other public sector oil companies at Angamaly on Tuesday.
He interacted with the second batch of students who are undergoing the six-month training in industrial trade courses. The Minister also reviewed the activities and state-of-the-art facilities of the institute.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has set up Skill Development Institutes in various parts of the country as part of the “Skill India” campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A release issued here said that these institutes would help the students to realise their true potential and upgrade their skills, enhance their employability and increase opportunities for them in various industries in India and abroad. BPCL is the lead promoter of the SDI in Kochi.
